Jyotish: The Science of Light

The word Jyotish comes from Sanskrit and is often translated as “the Science of Light.”

I love that description. And I’ve fallen deeply in love with the time I get to spend with clients on their charts. It is such a sweet practice of illumination. A light of remembrance of who you really are.

Light helps us see what’s actually there - and what is in the shadows.

Our birth chart can bring light to the qualities, patterns, gifts, and challenges that are part of our unique destiny.

It can help us understand why certain things seem to come naturally, why some lessons keep coming back for another round, or why certain experiences have had such a strong impact on us.

Are we doing what we are meant to be doing?

In almost every reading I hear -

“Well… that explains a few things.”

A Jyotish reading is really a conversation about where in your life this light may be most needed.

Perhaps it’s shining on a pattern that is ready to be understood.

Perhaps it’s illuminating a strength you’ve overlooked.

Perhaps it’s helping you see a challenge from a different perspective.

Or perhaps it’s bringing greater clarity to the particular season of life you’re moving through.

For me, that’s what makes Jyotish such a beautiful and meaningful practice.

It helps us see ourselves more clearly, understand the terrain we’re walking through, and ask better questions. It lights our way.

There is another eclipse this week: the lunar eclipse is on August 27. So, more mantra, more reflection = greater clarity.

I am here to help. Schedule a Jyotish reading here.
